Riordan Karath

Title:
High Warden of the Royal Wardens
Description:
Obviously a man of Dale, Riordan is of a tall build and broad shoulders with all the accessories a man from Laketown should have. Black gray-mixed hair is trimmed short and his face clean-shaven most of the time, his dark blue eyes have a sincere look within. The lines of his face are drawn into a handsome picture with a classic straight nose and a relatively common-looking pair of lips that have a tendency to curve into a smile on the most unexpected moments. What skin is visible, remains largely unmarred save for a rather nasty-looking scar reaching from under his chin almost to his left ear. It doesn't seem like it is of any hindrance to the man, however and is considered simply a remnant of some battle or another.
He stands with a hint of confidence and openness to his person, often also falling into a practiced stance of a soldier at attention. And a soldier he is, with a weathered but still beautiful one-handed axe attached to his belt, a dagger on the other side, sheathed and with only the neatly patterned hilt visible. His armor is light and the gray cloak of the Royal Wardens is worn over it. With the cloak comes the traditional broach made of silver and a heart of amber. Aside from that, the only other piece of jewelry he wears is a silver medallion with the insignia of his House as well as the Royal Wardens engraved into it.
History:
Riordan was born into a family of minor House Karath members. His father was a soldier as had been his father before him and so forth and naturally, the boy followed the tradition. Not that he truly minded, being a soldier, peacekeeper and enforcer of the King's Law was the spirit in which he was raised aside from always trying to do the right thing and think of others before himself.
Unsurprisingly, the young man grew into an honourable adult, finding joy in being a simple soldier - first among the Esgaroth Guard and King's Men before the Royal Wardens were established by Brand. Always responsible and ready to serve, it was no wonder the young Karath kinsman made quick career in every unit he was in even though he never asked for it.
There are stories, legends among the other Wardens and an occasional guardsman who still remember him. They say he was at the head of a group of Dale warriors when it ran into a gang of orcs, Uruk-hai and an occasional troll. Another tale claims he nearly died when a fierce female Uruk-hai warrior took a special interest in pummeling him into the ground and to pieces and that he only survived because the Dwarves came to the rescue.
These are all stories and change with every telling but the truth is, Riordan Karath does not fancy talking about himself much. Of the House, of the order he is in, of the King, even the Lake-town that he has a love-hate relationship with and where he hasn't returned often in the recent years. Now he is back, however, and I feel another story coming up right there.
