Title: Who's the Dwarf?!

There was a small commotion inside the front gate the other day. It was morning and the gate should have been opened already but the gate guard... had LOST THE KEY! How shameful! DANIR was there, stomping and grumbling about this, needing to be somewhere very soon and BARDUR the young Skald as well. Everyone's hopes now lay on the guard that was about to get on duty but alas... When he arrived, he was wobbly and speechless and quite frankly, drunk as a pig in an ale barrel. Accompanied by his friend DORN, a young Warder of the Erebor army, instead of giving up the key, his face met the floor as he passed out after a night of drinking and fun at the nearest tavern.

Although he was not on duty, the poor youngster Dorn was scolded and picked on by the lady dwarf Danir while Bardur looked on, murmuring some calming words between the two as the Warder got mad as well. No wonder, she called him a hobbit! I'd be mad, too. Then, his beard is kind of... and his build a bit wiry. There was talk of orcs and trolls that Danir had killed while Dorn had little to show for his great deeds other than squashing spiders(not the big ones, either!). But in the end, just shy of it bursting into a real fight and scandal, Dorn found the key on his passed out friend.

Bardur however, made a lovely - if a bit unfinished - verse out of this event and promised to smooth out the bumps and present it later at Longbeard's tavern. While Dorn said he would definitely be there, Danir will be long gone by that time. She has no time or patience for such foolishness. Though she did help the Skald compose it! A woman of many talents, she.

Title: IC Announcement

Winter is here - the storm-winds blow, and often the snow falls. Not the best weather for travel, no? But the renowned Zinbar leather merchant Brerin son of Zherin has assembled a trading caravan headed to Londaroth, to purchase some of the fine furs obtained by the Mannish trappers there whilst they are still fresh. All are welcome to join, whether merchant or warder, guard or cook!

Title: Turnip-tossing

Did you know there were Dwarves in Laketown the other day? There was a whole bunch of them camped across the bridge, and they must've been on some trip or other because they were buying up supplies. You couldn't walk through town without bumping into one - why, poor Meggie had her basket of turnips knocked over by one black-bearded fellow (BARDUR) carrying a sack almost as big as himself. He told another skinnier Dwarf (DORN), some pal of his (or his son maybe? Couldn't see anything under that cloak and hood!) to pick them up but that was even worse: next thing the fellow was doing a spot of vegetable-juggling whilst the first one chanted some nonsense rhyme! Now, is that socially acceptable behaviour? The second dwarf even had the cheek to ask for a fee for his 'assistance'! Meggie was having none of that, of course, and eventually the black-bearded one coughed up some money for the basket of damaged vegetables. What he did with them I don't know - I heard him asking in horror if Men-folk actually ate these things ...
