The Barazin are an ancient clan, the oldest surviving, next to the Mazarbul. Maintaining traditions dating from the glory days of Khazad-dum, they boast some of the most experienced miners and stone masons in Erebor, and perhaps all of dwarfdom. These dwarves are of the same group that was involved in the diggings when Durin's Bane was unleashed in Moria, though they were mining with folk of the Bundazanul clan at the time, and to this day, the blame is debated.
Their last lord in Moria was Klori, son of Koli, and the line has held true from then until now. Kloi Whitebeard was last Thane in Dain's Kingdom but when he retired at great age, with no heir or descendants, Barazin has been ruled by Stewards chosen by Clan Elders.
Clan Device
The field (background) of emblems sporting the device of the Barazin is checkered black and red, with gold piping between. Upon this, in silver, will be emblazoned a war-axe and mattock, war-axe crossed dexter (from bottom left to top right) over the mattock. Unenamelled metallic mediums may forgo the checkered field. Flags bearing this device will be thinly rectangular, tall not wide, and always blazoned.
