New page

The term 'Craftsman' is a rather general term, and obviously it can mean a wide assortment of professions. However, beneath the Hills and the Mountain, the Craftsman Guild is often associated with the less well-known professions and the more specialized and unique professions.

Smiths possess their own guild, as do merchants and miners, and all are large and prosperous. To counter this, a grouping of the less commonplace professions banded together to form their own guild to rival the others and now the Craftsman Guilds in both Emyn-Engrin and Erebor are large and influential, their Guildmasters well-heeded on monetary matters.

Obviously, the 'Craftsman' section is the most open of the all the professions in the Main Jobs category, and all 'crafting' professions are open, from sculptors to bowyers and lampwrights to potters. New players can either join the Craftsman Guild as an apprentice of a craftsman profession or, if they wish a more in-depth apprenticeship, they can apprentice themselves to a PC Master of their chosen profession, if there is one currently played.

The currently available 'Craftsman' professions are:
* Bowyer
* Cartwright
* Cobbler
* Toywright
* Furniture-maker
* Potter
* Chandler
* Clockmaker
* Wood-carver
* Seamstress/Tailor
* Lampwright
* Pipemaker

As can be seen, the Craftsman profession is large and diversified, and very open to new players. The ranks run as follows:

# Apprentice <Specialty>
# Journeyman <Specialty>
# Senior Journeyman <Specialty> (Note: this rank may be skipped over if members of a profession are few in number.)
# Master <Specialty>
